Drama for Life is the research, teaching and learning partner for Themba Interactive – Initiatives for Life. Themba Interactive is the implementing and community engagement partner for Drama for Life. Together, Drama for Life and Themba Interactive strive to be the "best practice" leaders in applied drama in Africa.
 
Drama for Life is a unique, cutting edge research programme at the University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Arts (WSOA) that enhances dialogue for purposes of social transformation. The programme is a leader in the field of an interdisciplinary and integrated approach to applied drama, arts education and drama therapy in Africa. We achieve this through a critical reflexive and therapeutic pedagogy that relates to current social realities and the rich indigenous knowledge of Africa.
 
Drama for Life is proud to announce that it will offer a series of new qualifications, the first of their kind in Africa, from 2013:

• Advanced Diploma, Honours, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and PhD in the field of Applied Drama: Theatre in Education, Communities and Social Contexts
• Honours, Masters in the field of Drama Therapy
• Advanced Diploma, Honours, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters with an Arts Education orientation in collaboration with WSOA and Wits School of Education
• Advanced Diploma, Honours, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters with a Theatre-Making and Applied Drama orientation in collaboration with WSOA
